Marvel Snap is the latest mobile game release from the team over at Second Dinner. Card game alumni Ben Brode is leading the charge on Marvel Snap and has plenty of experience when it comes to mobile card game experiences — after all, he is one of Hearthstone’s former bosses. Available for download on Steam, Android and iOS, Marvel Snap is a card-battling game. For beginner players, here are a few hints and tricks to make the initial steps into the game a touch easier.
6 Play Mr. Fantastic
Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic, is the leader of The Fantastic Four and one of the smartest people in the entire Marvel Universe. Married to Susan Storm, the Invisible Woman, Reed is not only known for his intellectual prowess, but also his ability to stretch and contort his body like putty.

Use in the middle to boost the locations on either side with two extra points. This is very useful alongside Mr. Fantastic’s points that are applied to the middle zone when he is played. He’s truly must-have card in any beginner’s deck, and can turn the tide in any closely fought battle.
5 Visually Upgrade
Cards have several forms that they can take. Each card can be upgraded and should have a higher-quality deck. Winning matches to get XP and earning resources will allow players to upgrade their cards.

After battles, visually upgrade to increase card quality and unlock new cards. These give different looks to each Marvel hero or villain character card. These can include as frame breaks where the character artwork extends past the card frame, or even animated where the card has moving sections for a cool look.
4 Edit Decks
Building a new deck to suit individual play styles is one of the key elements for success in Marvel Snap. As players obtain new cards, using strategy and planning matches by carefully crafting a deck is essential for victory. These upgrades increase the card rarity and provide some cool 3D-like effects that pop next to standard cards.
Change cards over for newer, more powerful cards to improve deck strength. Be sure to balance out those hero cards. Making the deck strong with cards like The Incredible Hulk or Abomination level characters may seem a good idea, but even numbers are key. Make sure to include lower-level cards as well, playing them early in order to secure locations fast.
3 Taking Locations
The aim of the game in Marvel Snap is to take one of the three locations that spawn as the match progresses. These locations could be anywhere like Atlantis or the Gamma Labs. Locations may have different effects on the entire game, and some of these even change the location mid-match.

Taking all three locations is a tough challenge, as the opposing player will be attempting to do the same. Instead of spreading cards thin over three locations to try and keep all of them, focus on two. Pay attention to where the opposition is placing cards, which will indicate the location they’re trying to take. Then, choose one of the others and put cards there to hold them. After one location is as secure as it can be, battle for the second location. The first to get 2 out of 3 wins the match,
2 Complete Missions
There are various missions available to complete in Marvel Snap. Some will provide an extra challenge and make gameplay completely different. Many of them will require a switch-up of the roster in the currently selected deck to complete.
Daily missions, which refresh every 24 hours, are usually quick and easy. These include missions such as leveling up a card, or winning X amount of matches will earn completion and provide players with XP. Marvel Snap also has weekly challenges, recruit missions, and a season pass, the first of which is symbiote themed. All of these options will pay out XP when complete.
1 Read The Fine Print About Abilities
While this does not mean endless reading of terms and conditions, it does require taking a further look at various elements of Marvel Snap. Specifically, pay attention to character cards and the locations that spawn throughout the match. Both of these will have some further information that can turn the tide of the match quickly.
To try and swing the match the right way, firstly check the abilities of each character card in the selected deck. Most (but not all) characters have a special ability that is based off powers from the comics, which can change the playing field if they are played correctly. Second, the locations that appear will often have a status effect that players should keep in mind as the match progresses. Reading the fine print in this instance truly is beneficial and will make a winner out of a beginner who pays them heed.
Marvel Snap is available on Android, iOS, and PC.
