Take a look at these beginner tips for DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of the Nine Realms to finish the game with ease.

10 Use Fast Attacks To Pummel Enemies

Thunder is a charismatic dragon capable of unleashing mayhem on his enemies. He can use fast attacks to clobber enemies in DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of the Nine Realms. Fast attacks will also help players break stones and other objects in the game.

Players will encounter a number of Crimson Gembreakers from the start of the game. Practice fast attacks against these dragons to get the hang of the strikes and their patterns. It can take up to 10 hits from Thunder to defeat a Crimson Gembreaker.

9 Projectile Attacks Can Activate Trigger Crystals

Thunder, the Night Light dragon, has various moves that he can use in combat. When not fighting dragons, Thunder can use his attacks to solve puzzles and clear obstacles in his path. There are several towering boulders in the game that can not be destroyed using fast attacks.

Thunder has to find and activate Trigger Crystals in order to gain access beyond these boulders. Do not try to break these boulders with attacks, as the effort is futile. Most of these boulders have a Trigger Crystal around them that can be activated using projectile attacks. Look around the screen to find these Trigger Crystals and use Thunder’s projectile attack to make progress.

8 Slay Skrills On Sight

Skrills are somewhat of a nemesis of Night Lights in DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of the Nine Realms. They can be found in many stages throughout the game and can be a challenge to defeat for players who are new to adventure games.

Thunder has to be vigilant for Skrills while exploring the caves in the game. Skrills are large dragons that descend from out of nowhere to attack Thunder and his friends. Players can use a combination of fast attacks and heavy attacks upon spotting Skrills to destroy them in battle.

7 Fight One Dragon At A Time

DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of the Nine Realms constantly tests the skills of players with heated combat. Beginners to adventure games can stay focused on attacking one dragon at a time to preserve their health throughout the game.

Dragons such as the Crimson Gembreakers and Skrills are teeming around the map, waiting for a chance to ambush Thunder. There are loads of scenarios that pit Thunder against 3-4 dragons at once. In these situations, Thunder can attack and annihilate dragons one at a time to avoid getting distracted and dying prematurely.

6 Collect As Many Gems As Possible

Thunder can explore different caves and dungeons to collect more gems. Green gems are abundantly found on various levels. Players can walk near the green gems to collect them.

Players can use their fast attacks to break certain objects on the map. Breaking these objects will release a handful of gems that Thunder can collect. Blue gems are slightly harder to come by than green gems. Gamers can collect green and blue gems to upgrade their dragons with new skills.

5 Dash And Dodge Attacks

Beginners might find it hard to fight dragons with their fast attacks. Skrills can surround Thunder and attack simultaneously to deal massive amounts of damage to the Night Light dragon. A good strategy to use in battle is using dash to evade attacks.

Players can constantly use dash to dodge attacks from dragons. Crimson Gembreakers and Skrills will take more time to hit Thunder with their attacks while the player dodges with dash. Players can upgrade Thunder early in the game by unlocking the Quick Feet skill. Quick Feet needs 300 green gems and allows Thunder to dash more often without getting hit.

4 Unlock Skills Early

Learning new skills is essential to survive battles in DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of the Nine Realms. Players can unlock new skills between levels in the game. These skills can provide quite a few boosts to help Thunder venture fearlessly through the various caves.

The Sharper Fangs skill can be unlocked for 300 green gems and 100 blue gems. With it, Thunder can deal more damage with each attack after unlocking Sharper Fangs. Players can also unlock Thick Skin to withstand more damage and last longer in battle.

3 Don’t Get Fried While Flying

DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of the Nine Realms involves a lot of flying. Thunder has to rely on his flying abilities to discover new paths in each stage. He can use his attacks in mid-flight to clear objects from his path and activate Trigger Crystals.

Flying across volcanic projectiles is a frustrating part of the game. These volcanic projectiles will erupt from walls to fry Thunder before he can reach his destination. Take the time to chart out Thunder’s movements while flying to avoid getting burnt and buried by these volcanic eruptions in the game.

2 Land On The Right Spot

Thunder can look timid while progressing through the game. His meager size can make it tough to navigate across the map in this 3D platformer game. DreamWorks Dragons: Legends of the Nine Realms has various stages that need players to use Thunder’s feet and his wings to move forward.

The level design can make it increasingly hard to find the right way ahead. Thankfully, there are several spots where Thunder can rest between his sessions of flight. Find these spots and land on them safely to be able to cover the map thoroughly.

1 Don’t Be Fazed By The Fault Ripper

Fault Ripper is the first boss fight of the game. Players can fight the humongous dragon in The Beast stage. Players can start the fight with a few projectile attacks to weaken the Fault Ripper. The boss battle involves the Fault Ripper charging at Thunder at every turn.

Dash quickly to move out of harm’s way during the boss fight. Players can alternate between fast attacks, heavy attacks, and projectile attacks while dashing to shred the Fault Ripper’s health. If the Fault Ripper flees the battle to regenerate health, fly across the stones and strike the boss with a couple of hits to interrupt the healing. Reach back down to the ground and finish the boss battle with heavy attacks.
