Set in modern Tokyo, Akane will test the skills of the fastest gamer on their journey to defeat the boss, Katsuro. Take a look at these beginner tips for Akane.
10 One Hit Blunder
Akane is a slasher game that expects players to be on their toes. People who are new to the hack and slash genre of games need to be fast with their hands to be able to win in the game. The action game requires players to kill their enemies before they have a chance to strike Akane.

The enemies that will attack Akane can die in one hit. That’s all it takes, one hit, and players can bid goodbye to their adversaries. It also takes one hit to kill Akane and end the game. Be sure to protect Akane from incoming damage when closing in on kills.
9 Play Through The Tutorial
The action game has a built-in tutorial mode. Beginners starting fresh in Akane can learn the ropes by playing through the tutorial. Players can learn the controls of the game and the move sets to be more effective during fights.
People can access the tutorial from the main menu. The tutorial takes place in the Rural Zones and shows a young Akane training to be a master of the sword. Her teacher, Ishikawa, gives Akane a brief description of the sword style before running her through the controls.
8 Stay On The Move
The worst thing players can do in Akane is stay in one position. Being on the move in the game will help Akane stay out of harm’s way. Don’t stand around on the map waiting to dodge enemies. Move fast using the directional keys and use the weapons to obliterate enemies before they can get in striking distance.
Slow hands can result in instant death in the game. Bullets and other projectiles that are aimed at Akane can reach the player faster than what is anticipated. Walk around the screen to avoid getting killed at all costs.
7 Dash To Dodge Enemies
Players can learn to dodge with a touch of a button in Akane. Seasoned players of Akane use the Dash ability to sweep through enemies without letting them land a single hit on them. The Dash ability will help players last longer in fights and get a higher score in the game.
Akane can cover quite a distance with her Dash ability. Focus on enemies and their incoming attacks to dodge at the right time. Players who dodge bullets too quickly can get caught in another round of projectiles on the screen.
6 Alternate Between Weapons
Akane offers plenty of weapons to enhance the gameplay. The hack and slash game lets players hone their skills with handguns and katanas that can cut through opponents in a cinch. Guns can be used to deal with enemies at mid and long-range. Ammunition is limited for guns and Akane will need to recharge her ammunition after bursting through a magazine of bullets.

It can take a couple of seconds to refill the ammunition of the guns in Akane. Players can use the sword to perform close-range kills and Dash away from enemies to avoid getting killed while the gun is being reloaded.
5 Deflect Bullets To Destroy Enemies
Players can choose to play defensive or offensive in their sessions while fighting enemies in Akane. The slasher game lets people deflect bullets using the Defend ability. Akane will block incoming bullets by straightening her sword. Players can deflect all incoming bullets in a direction by using the Defend button.
Gamers who are eager to push their limits can try to complete quests in Akane. People can kill 25 enemies by deflecting bullets in one game to complete the quest. Seasoned Akane players will have a swell time killing 50 enemies with deflecting bullets to finish harder quests.
4 Activate Adrenaline Mode Often
There’s an Adrenaline bar at the bottom of the screen. Players can fill the Adrenaline bar by killing multiple enemies in a row. The faster Akane kills her opponents, the more rapidly the Adrenaline bar gets filled on the screen.
There are 3 bars of Adrenaline that can be used in the game. People can activate the Adrenaline bar by pressing the activate button to perform a Dragon Slash. It is a move that can annihilate many enemies at once. Using Dragon Slash will consume one Adrenaline bar.
3 Execute Dragon Slayer When In Danger
The Dragon Slayer is similar to the Dragon Slash attack in Akane. Players need at least one bar of Adrenaline to pull a Dragon Slash. A Dragon Slayer is an ultimate attack that consumes all 3 bars of Adrenaline.
Beginners can take a lot of time to fill up the Adrenaline bar in the game. Continuously attack enemies with the sword to fill up the Adrenaline bar. Players can avoid using the Dash ability to accelerate their process of filling up the Adrenaline bar. Once all the 3 bars of Adrenaline are filled, use the Dragon Slayer ability to wipe out enemies on the screen.
2 Experiment With The Settings
Akane needs a smooth system to be able to chop down enemies without breaking a sweat. The battles are intense and will need players to use their weapons to decimate enemies in battle. If the system is slow while performing attacks in Akane, check the system settings in the main menu to improve the gameplay.
People can toggle lights, bloom, and perfect pixels to increase the frame rate of their sessions in Akane. Players can adjust the quality of particles and tweak the quality of shadows in the game to make the gameplay smooth as butter.
1 Defeat Katsuro
Akane is designed to please fans of hack and slash games. Players can gun down enemies and cut through cyber ninjas to get better at the game. Once players have killed a total of 100 enemies, Katsuro will turn up in the game to challenge Akane.
Katsuro is a formidable boss in Akane. The boss fight requires players to learn the moves of Katsuro before being able to cut him down. He can move faster than Akane, needing players to dodge his attacks with the Dash ability. Avoid using the gun against Katsuro. Swing the sword close to Katsuro a couple of times before piercing the boss with the sword to defeat him.
Akane is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PC, Linux, and iOS.
